Podcast Episode 372: I Don’t Care What the Script Says

So much good stuff going on in the world of WWE these days, folks! Roman Reigns’ leukemia is in recession and he has returned to raucous support. The meta-storyline of WWE is in full swing with Vince undermining the decisions of his children (and son-in-law) right and left. It’s not that they’re horrible decisions, but they’re not exactly “best for business” if you know what I mean. To that end, Kevin Owens is back and learning a thing or two from Stone Cold. Batista returned as well, and beat up a 70-year-old man in the process – and it’s my favorite thing among all the things to happen this week.

Meanwhile, NXT keeps setting the bar higher, Becky and Ronda are breaking all the rules on Twitter, Tommy Wiseau is trying to get in on WrestleMania, and R-Truth has become a bona fide champion. What could go wrong?

Featuring: ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman), Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag), and Beek (@JaimsVanDerBeek / @GrownMenPod)

Music by The Black Furies, courtesy of Music Alley.

Podcast Episode 369.5: All Elite Wrestling’s Double or Nothing Press Conference

We took a road trip up to Las Vegas to cover AEW’s event hyping May’s Double or Nothing event at the MGM Grand. We covered the event on social media, partook in the post-event press conference, and even were on the scene for radio interviews the next day. We learned a lot, and are trying to remain cautiously optimistic about the whole thing. I say it that way because it’s easy to get caught up in the hype and feel the energy of those guys and the fans – there’s a ton of potential with All Elite Wrestling – and it could be a good thing for WWE and the entire landscape of pro wrestling + sports entertainment.

Featuring: ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman), Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag), and Mega Ran (@MegaRan)

Podcast Episode 369: Royal Rumble 2019 Results and Fallout

Royal Rumble weekend wrecked us. So much so that we couldn’t even get together last week to talk about it. Before we went down with various cold and flu symptoms, we had a blast, though. From the Ramble to late nights at Cobra Barcade… Something to Wrestle (…………..with Bruce Prichard) to all of WWE’s live events at Chase Field and TSR Arena.. it was a great time with friends old and new. WWE overall delivered a hell of a slate of shows. Becky Lynch shined bright. Daniel Bryan does what he does best. And the rest of the roster played their roles to an amazing level. If they can keep this up, WrestleMania is going to be a phenomenal show this year.

Featuring: The ‘Official Chef of The Steel Cage Podcast Network’ Craig D’Cruze (@WWECHEF), ‘Super Jew’ Jared (@SuperJew75), ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman), and Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag).
