Podcast Episode 413: TakeOver In Your House Recap

This week, we let ourselves in without knocking to TakeOver: In Your House and discuss another fun NXT PPV. We chat about Drake Maverick for fighting for his job and whether or not we’re working ourselves into a shoot about it. We also cheer for Keith Lee for representing the BLM movement, and we welcome our new NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai aka the queen of our hearts. But In Your House isn’t the only network special we discuss with WWE Backlash coming up this weekend. We talk about our winners, predictions, and all things to take into consideration leading up to the show.

Please visit @JaimsVanDerBeek T-Shirt store. Currently there are two shirts that support the
Black Lives Matter Movement. All proceeds will be donated to BLM charities:

Podcast Episode 399: WarGames + Survivor Series 2019 Preview

Red. Blue. Yellow. YES, YELLOW. RAW, SmackDown, and NXT are all vying for brand supremacy at this Sunday’s Survivor Series. Before that even happens, NXT is putting on what is sure to be a hell of a show the night before. Even if you don’t keep up with every weekly show, there’s a lot to be excited about.

Meanwhile, we also break down some items of cultural significance – from Jim Cornette’s racist remarks to ACH taking a stand – there’s a lot to take in with pro wrestling in 2019. Some good – some bad – but lots to learn from it all regardless of where you stand.

ALSO: Make sure and check out Kraken’s NXT / WrestleMania promotion on social media (@KrakenRum), and (just for our listeners) visit contest.thesteelcage.com before the end of Survivor Series to enter to win a special prize pack.

Featuring: ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman), Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag), and ‘Super Jew’ Jared (@SuperJew75)

Podcast Episode 394: Wednesday Night War Declared!

It’s official. WWE is going head to head with AEW this fall. NXT is making the move to USA, extending to two hours, and broadcasting LIVE against AEW’s weekly show on TNT. It’s like the late 90s all over again. And if you think NXT vs AEW isn’t a big deal, you’re fooling yourself. In a world where everyone consumes whatever niche entertainment they want, even the world of pro wrestling is splintering amongst fans.

Featuring: ‘Super Jew’ Jared (@SuperJew75), ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman) and Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag)

Podcast Episode 393: SummerSlam 2019 Results

SummerSlam sure came upon us fast, didn’t it? And now it’s in the rear view, along with TakeOver Toronto. So much has happened. From what will surely go down as one of the biggest moments in Seth Rollins’ career to the amazingly well done (and creepy AF) in-ring debut of The Fiend, there were plenty of memorable moments on Sunday. That’s not to look past another stellar NXT card, where Adam Cole (BAY BAY) and Johnny Gargano put on a show for the ages.

Beyond that, we now have King of the Ring starting up and PWG’s BOLA just around the corner, just as New Japan’s G1 tournament comes to a close. Have we mentioned that we love tournaments?

Podcast Episode 386: NXT TakeOver XXV

Adam Cole, BAY-BAY! Need we say anything else?

But really, during a week in which WWE is promoting their Saudi Arabia show and going extra light on the in-ring action, there’s little need to pay attention to any of that. If you aren’t caught up on NXT, now is the time to do so. Still hungry for wrestling? New Japan’s Best of the Super Juniors Final took place this week as well, and though we recorded before it went down – it’s sure to be an exciting one as Jon Moxley makes his first in-ring appearance since WWE.
