Podcast Episode 397: Brock Lesnar is Inevitable

RAW. SmackDown. NXT. Dynamite. NXT UK. Ten plus hours of fresh pro wrestling content is now coming at us on a weekly basis. Throw in a Saturday or Sunday show, and an already out of hand schedule just becomes that more daunting. First world problems, amirite?

Truth of the matter is – there’s a lot of great content available to us, and we’re excited to wade through it at our leisure along with you. NXT and AEW are pushing each other to dazzle us. SmackDown is being driven by a fair bit of FOX Sports influence. RAW is… well, RAW is RAW. We’ll break down the last few weeks and look to the future a bit, as the WWE Draft looms…

Featuring: ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman), Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag), and ‘Super Jew’ Jared (@SuperJew75)

Podcast Episode 396: Clash of Champions 2019 Preview

The start of the NFL season usually means pro wrestling slows down a bit. Not so fast, this year! AEW’s basic cable debut is around the corner. To instill some competition, NXT is moving to USA Network already next week.

On top of all that, Clash of Champions is THIS WEEKEND! Every championship is on the line, with mostly fire rivalries: Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton; the duality that has become Bayley vs Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks; the non-title rivalry that has come out of Rowan and Roman Reigns; and Seth Rollins teaming up with Braun Strowman to first defend their RAW Tag Team Championships and then later facing each other for the Universal Championship.

Here’s something fun I came across – EVERY. SINGLE. CHAMPION… is favored to retain. Except for Seth and Braun. If you’re interested, you can find odds for the entire Clash of Champions card at Sports Betting Dime.

Anyway, I feel like WWE has felt a fire lit under them as of late, and I expect they’ll bring it this Sunday.

Podcast Episode 394: Wednesday Night War Declared!

It’s official. WWE is going head to head with AEW this fall. NXT is making the move to USA, extending to two hours, and broadcasting LIVE against AEW’s weekly show on TNT. It’s like the late 90s all over again. And if you think NXT vs AEW isn’t a big deal, you’re fooling yourself. In a world where everyone consumes whatever niche entertainment they want, even the world of pro wrestling is splintering amongst fans.

Podcast Episode 393: SummerSlam 2019 Results

SummerSlam sure came upon us fast, didn’t it? And now it’s in the rear view, along with TakeOver Toronto. So much has happened. From what will surely go down as one of the biggest moments in Seth Rollins’ career to the amazingly well done (and creepy AF) in-ring debut of The Fiend, there were plenty of memorable moments on Sunday. That’s not to look past another stellar NXT card, where Adam Cole (BAY BAY) and Johnny Gargano put on a show for the ages.

Beyond that, we now have King of the Ring starting up and PWG’s BOLA just around the corner, just as New Japan’s G1 tournament comes to a close. Have we mentioned that we love tournaments?
