Podcast Episode 285: Money in the Bank 2017 Results

What a week it’s been in WWE, eh?

Money in the Bank (depending on who you ask) delivered a solid show, building up from disappointing finishes into a hell of a main event. RAW kept the momentum going with some great stuff from Samoa Joe / Roman Reigns to The Miz, to pretty much every mid-card talent involved in the show.

There was plenty of controversy to discuss, particularly in regards to the women – oh, don’t worry. We start off pretty heavy on that. But overall, we had a lot of fun covering WWE this week. May every week be like this!

Featuring: Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag), ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman), ‘The Beast from the Middle East’ Darrell Johnson (@zazzumplop), and ‘Super Jew’ Jared (@SuperJew75).

Podcast Episode 284: Money in the Bank 2017 Preview

I was listening to another podcast today where they talked about the separation of artist from their work. As in, can you or should you still enjoy someone’s body of work even if they’re not a particularly good person? I feel like this bled into the start of this episode’s podcast a bit. Ha.

Fear not, though! We get into all that was this week’s RAW, followed by a breakdown of what may happen at Money in the Bank, and we lay out our hopes and dreams for the future of SmackDown’s championships…

Featuring: Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag) and ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman).

Podcast Episode 283: Extreme Rules 2017 Results

In the last decade, the median age of pro wrestling fans has increased 21 years. Though many other sports are experiencing a similar aging in their fanbase, what about pro wrestling isn’t resonating with the younger audiences? Are TVPG ratings, Flintstones and Jetsons crossovers, and Candy Crush clones not drawing in the kiddos?

We’ll run through the high points of Extreme Rules and the fallout on RAW, as well as some of SmackDown Live – as per usual. Enjoy!

Special Guest: ‘Triple J’ Jason Markovitz (find him with his band, Groove Museum OR performing at The Comedy Spot on 6/25)

Featuring: ‘The Beast from the Middle East’ Darrell Johnson (@zazzumplop), Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag), and ‘Super Jew’ Jared (@SuperJew75).

Music by The Black Furies, courtesy of Music Alley.

Podcast Episode 282: Extreme Rules 2017 Preview

This week, the gang gets together to chat about Extreme Rules – coming to you this Sunday from Baltimore – only on the WWE Network! Though you’d think we would spend a fair bit of time talking about kendo sticks and steel cages, we spent a fair bit of time looking at the state of storytelling and character development in WWE presently – and we hope you’ll enjoy the conversation as much as we did.

Featuring: ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman), Psyniac (@rawispsyniac), ‘A Bomb’ Adam Hess (@ahess49), ‘The Beast from the Middle East’ Darrell Johnson (@zazzumplop), and Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag).

Podcast Episode 281: Backlash 2017 Results

I almost wanted to name this podcast “NXT TakeOver Chicago Results” because holy crap, nothing that happened this weekend can touch what happened on Saturday night. But I digress…

In addition to NXT, we also saw what went down at the WWE UK Championship special, Jinder Mahal’s “Trading Places” with Randy Orton, and the RAW / SmackDown Live fallout in the following days.

Featuring: Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag), ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman), Psyniac (@rawispsyniac), ‘Hot Podcast Garbage’ Sprung (@jasprung), and ‘The Beast from the Middle East’ Darrell Johnson (@zazzumplop).
