Podcast Episode 302: TLC 2017 Preview

Tables, Ladders, and Chairs is this weekend! …and boy, does it seem underwhelming. That said, we’ll be tuning in (so you don’t have to) and we’ll report back next week with just how bad The Demon vs Sister Abigail turns out to be.

We’re also quite interested in seeing how long they’ll let Brock Lesnar laugh without any dialog on cable TV when he responds to Jinder Mahal’s challenge.

Yep, it’s one of those weeks, folks.

Featuring: ‘Super Jew’ Jared (@SuperJew75), Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag), and ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman).

Music by The Black Furies, courtesy of Music Alley.

Podcast Episode 301: Hell in a Cell 2017 Results

The SHIELD has reunited, and at the very least – we have mixed feelings about it. Neville might be on his way out, and we are all pretty much on the same page about it. Asuka is coming, and WHAT THE HELL ARE THE WOMEN THINKING WANTING TO FACE HER???

Meanwhile, over on the blue brand, Sami Zayn is having a fantastic coming out party of sorts as the heel we always wanted to complement Kevin Owens. And the tag division is HOT HOT HOT (except whatever it is Harper and Rowan are calling themselves these days.. The Bludgeon Brothers? Hmph.).

All in all, it was a pretty fun week in WWE. Onward to TLC! In like a week and a half. See you next week for the preview. *sigh*

Featuring: ‘Super Jew’ Jared (@SuperJew75), Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag), and ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman).

Podcast Episode 300: Hell in a Cell 2017 Preview

Welcome to hell. That’s how I felt watching WWE programming this week. Zing!

No, but really. This Sunday’s event is sure to be an exciting one. As Hell in a Cell draws near, we’re starting to get worried about Shane McMahon. Also, The Usos and The New Day seek to continue reinventing the tag team scene in WWE. No matter what happens on the rest of the card, you can’t go wrong with that!

Featuring: Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag), ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman), ‘The Beast from the Middle East’ Darrell Johnson (@zazzumplop, and ‘Super Jew’ Jared (@SuperJew75).

Podcast Episode 299: No Mercy 2017 Results

Though the RAW tag team division may be a bit shallow, tag team wrestling in WWE right now is on FIRE! The Usos and New Day set the bar, but The Bar may have just elevated it in a gutsy performance on Sunday with Ambrose and Rollins. Man alive.

No Mercy provided a good amount of fun action with some dissatisfactory results mixed in, but everything ultimately worked out all right with a solid RAW follow up the next night.

SmackDown was indeed in our hometown this week, as well, but nobody from the show made it out to Glendale. Doesn’t sound like we missed much, though…

All that said, yes… we do address the elephant in the room. If you’re here to hear our side of the whole thing that went down with a former contributor to The Steel Cage this past weekend, you’ve come to the right place. If you don’t give a shit, skip the first half hour or so. Either way, it’s time to move on, and we can all do so now with a smile.

Why? Because wrestling… is… fun!

Featuring: Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag) and ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman).

Podcast Episode 298: No Mercy 2017 Preview

Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman are going to collide, one-on-one, in Los Angeles, this weekend. I’d make a joke about natural disasters, but it’s probably too soon for that sort of thing.

In addition, John Cena and Roman Reigns will be looking to settle their beef, as we all don our multi-colored CeNation gear. The Miz goes toe to toe with Kurt Angle’s son. And finally, the women are all fighting each other because that’s just what WWE does when they get lazy about writing proper storylines for them.

Meanwhile, on SmackDown… Jinder Mahal overstays his welcome, and well.. the women all fight each other there, too. Go figure.

Also, Josh tries to introduce a new game to the crew. Is it fun or terrible? Listen and decide for yourself!

Featuring: ‘The Beast from the Middle East’ Darrell Johnson (@zazzumplop), Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag) and ‘The Mayor of Reseda’ Derek (@cap_kaveman).

Music by The Black Furies, courtesy of Music Alley.
